33 weeks
So, here's another picture of me in this shirt. I really have more options, I just like this color a lot! Next week I'll try to spice it up with a new shirt for you!

Our friends Matt and Michelle had their baby Friday night. Jonathan Daniel. Another boy a few weeks early. I figure this means I'll have a girl and go two weeks late. Tim says it doesn't work out that way.
Only time will tell! 7 weeks til my due date!

50 days
Only 50 days til my due date.
However, this does not by any means mean, "You're almost there!" I just might hit the next customer who says that. When I reply, "About 2 months", they reply, "It will go faster than you know it!"
Yeah, maybe for you who gets enough sleep every night and doesn't have swollen feet to deal with.
Can you tell what my biggest pet peeve is right now!?
50 days does seem like we're getting somewhere though!

More sweet deals.
I went to Sears today so I could get some blue paint tape for Tim. It was super-useful for painting. Tim actually hates painting, so this makes it a little better -- I taped all the edges off!

You can see one coat here! He and Mark did the primer all yesterday.
Since I was at Sears, I decided to wander upstairs to the baby department since I knew they carried the Carters line. I never knew that they also had things like cribs, strollers and carseats! As I was leaving, I noticed a random bin with some sale in it.

I got all of this for $10! I could have gotten the sleep sack in pink, but I think Tim would find a girl in blue to be more acceptable than a boy in pink. The pajama set with animals is three pieces. I bought that in two sizes. The red baseball outfit was only $1! The pants in the middle bottom are a two pack, the first is green and white striped, the other is solid white. Anything I don't use, I'll donate. Good deals have been just falling in my lap lately!

Radio
I've been doing a lot of cleaning today. My kitchen, bathroom and ready to be painted nursery look better than they have in months. (Okay, at least a year for the nursery...)
I've been listening to 105.3, and they've had some great songs. They have all the current top 40, but right now Areosmith's 'I don't wanna miss a thing'. It brings me back. I heard Michelle Branch's 'Everywhere' earlier this afternoon. Completely random, but I love it.
Music makes me happy. As does my partially clean house. The bedroom and living room still need a little work...

Paint
I like picking out paint. I wouldn't say that I'm good at it, but I love going to Seven's and looking at all the paint chips they have.
Today Tim and Mark are going to prime the nursery. This called for a stop at Seven's yesterday for me to pick up primer. When I mentioned this to someone at work, they said, "You could get primer at Meijers." No, I can't. Seven's is the only place that I will ever buy paint.
My Grandpa DeYoung was a teacher. This meant that he had summers to make some much needed extra money. So, he painted. My mom and my aunts all would help. I would have loved to see my mom hanging off a ladder painting a huge barn. I've heard stories and it sounds awesome. He bought all of his paint from Seven's. The customer service is impeccable and everyone who works there knows exactly what they're talking about.
When my Grandpa died, my Grandma took some paint back to Seven's to see if she could return it as he had just bought it. The first person wasn't so sure, so he got a manager. When the manager came out he said, "Don DeYoung was one of our best customers. We'll take back every can she has, even if there's rust on it."
With that, they have a customer for life with me.

Nursery Progress
We're coming right along! This is the wall that faces the backyard. You can see it in last post's picture as the one with hanging bookshelves and the desks. Tim moved all of that stuff today and took the bookshelves down.

Then, I took down more wallpaper so he could mud the holes from the shelves.

We're getting there!
And, to those of you who found Kizie amusing in that she thought she should make the boys dinner--
Philip had tacos, but he put the meat in the shell and then in the microwave. He said they were kind of soggy.
Matthew heated the meat up on the stove, but got distracted and melted a plastic lid on the stovetop as well.
I guess Kizie was right.

No, please don't say, "You're almost there!" I could have 2 and a half months yet. Also, the nursery is not near finished, so we can't be almost there.

I just realized, that in all my photos of the house, I never took "before" pictures of the office. That's probably because it was always a collecting place for anything of Tim's that didn't have a home. Here are a few "during" shots. All of the walls were covered in the ripped chunks of wall paper... I've taken a lot of it off already and Tim has moved three bookcases and a lot of books downstairs.
The corner facing the garage and the kitchen:

The wall facing the backyard(you can see some of the wallpaper here still):

The wall with the closet facing the bathroom:

My steamer is AMAZING at getting wallpaper off the wall. Hopefully we'll be able to paint this week! (And, by we, I mean Tim and Mark VanderHill.)

Slightly Overwhelmed
Today my mom is having her surgery in Chicago. The Kiz stayed with me last night so I could bring her to school this morning. Last night I slept like a baby -- I woke up just about every hour... Tim is in Detroit until tomorrow afternoon for the Macaul Technology conference. Not only did I get up early to bring the Kiz to school, but I have to work 4p-1a tonight putting out new merchandise.
I'm so tired already.
And, now that I'm 7 months along, my feet have decided to start swelling.

I think this might be the last week of my rings too. I don't even want to know what my feet are going to look like after work tonight. This is what they look like at 10a with little walking...
I pray my mom's surgery goes well and that Kiz is okay tonight at home without my parents. She says it's her responsibility to take care of the boys. She told me today that she thinks she might have to make dinner for Philip.

Good news of the Day?
I got to see Amy, KC and Ki yesterday! They were in the mall for something else and has some time to kill, so they came to the Crew to see if I was there. Hooray for cute tiny babies to hold!

Baby Monitor
At our shower on Saturday night, we received a baby monitor. This one to be precise. A pretty good range is not necessary for our house, but it is for camp.
We got it out last night and charged the batteries. Today after work I set the baby part next to a ticking kitchen timer and took the parent part with me on a walk to see how far it could reach. I can almost make it to the corner of Arden and Byron Center. Pretty sweet. We're excited. (Well, Tim wanted it to reach Rich's so he could go there when the baby was sleeping. I told him that wasn't allowed anyway.)
Other sweet news of the day: Tim fixed the dryer! It was making really loud thumping sounds, which I was pretty sure wasn't right. Two trips to Sears by me and an hour of Tim tinkering and I have a dryer that sounds like new! (Okay, like it sounded years ago. I'm pretty sure the ones they sell now are quieter. But, mine came with the house!)
Wow. I'm a boring grown-up...

31 weeks
After church today, I was looking at the laundry pile(clean!) for something to wear besides my dress. I spotted my pink tee and yellow tank. Oh, that was cute the last time I wore it. After I uploaded today's picture, I realized it looked cute last week Sunday. Luckily, I save my pictures with the week number, so I'll know which are which!

Two more months and I should have a baby. How crazy is that?!
Last night was our first shower. It was wonderful! Lucas and Faith threw a joint shower for us and Matt and Michelle. We all had a great time, and LuLu has a few more things. This baby is taking over the house!

sweet deals, again
I got a coupon in the mail last week for $10 off a purchase of $10 or more at Macy's. I got really crafty while shopping. I was looking around, and had a few gender neutral options in my hand. But, I realized that somehow most of the clothes I've ended up with are girl clothes. I made my way to the boy section and found this little outfit.

It was on the $4.99 rack, with 50% off. $2.49? Yes, I'm getting that. It's a 6-12 month.
Then I found this little footed one-piece. It was in the boy section, but I would totally let either gender wear this -- especially at camp! Frogs, turtles, snails and ducks? Too cute!

My grand total after the coupon? 50 cents.
p.s. Check out the guess on the LuLu game -- they're fun!

I'm so annoyed.
Last week I had a really bad day. On Wednesday I decided to have a sub from Subway in Woodland Mall. This is a pretty big deal, because three years earlier an employee working there was extremely rude to me, so I made a personal boycott of that location.
I like my bacon really crispy, and they don't seem to leave it in the microwave long enough at most stores, so I ask for the bacon on the side and heat it up when I get to work/home. I came up with this genius plan last fall and have done it probably once a month since then at various locations across the city.
On Wednesday when I did this, the man a Subway told me he couldn't do that. I looked at him quizzically and told him that I get it all the time. He then laughed and said "Where? Who?" I told him I didn't know who at that location. He just kept looking at me with a smirk, so I just turned around and found a seat in the food court where I proceeded to cry for the next 20 minutes. (Hey, shut up! I was 6.5 months pregnant at the time and that was the only thing that sounded good to eat.
I managed to compose myself and went and bought a pretzel for lunch. Mmm. Nutritious!
Back at the crew, I went to Subway's website and filled out a customer comment on the incident.
Today I got a letter in the mail from the owner of Subway Woodland. They are sorry for my experience but they follow Subway's food handling policy which states bacon must be heated before being served to a customer. A photocopy of the page was included for me.
Okay, that I can understand. But, do you think the guy could have stated that this was there policy instead of LAUGHING AT ME? And, why does every other Subway I've been to in my life ask me "Do you want you bacon heated?"
The point is, the guy who works at the Subway in Woodland is a jerk(among other words I don't feel I should put on my blogger...) and I will NEVER be back to that location. The letter makes it seem like I did everything wrong by asking for my bacon unheated -- but the guy laughed at me. I still can't get over it.
Also note: It's not just me. Katie had gotten in line at Subway before me that day, saw that this guy was working and immediately left the line. He wouldn't serve her breakfast one day because it was 11:00:30 -- on his clock. On cellphones it was still before 11.
p.s. It's a good thing I don't have a doctor's appointment today. I'm pretty sure my blood pressure would be too high...

Sweet deal
I've been wanting a pair of cropped maternity denim. Gap came out with a few styles, but I didn't really like them. And, they were full price. I only have about two months left (less if I pull an Amy!), so I didn't want to spend that much.
But, then I had a sweet idea. I love my straight leg jeans, and now they were marked down to $29.99. I ordered them in the short length and cuffed them.
Perfect.
And, I had a coupon, so they were only $25. I love sweet deals.
(Plus, the baby present that I bought for Ki today was way cheaper than it was marked. Score!)

Highlights
So, both highlights from this week involve Dorr, MI.
1) The Dairy Ranch is open.
2) I got highlights.
See:

Okay, you can't see my highlights as much as I wanted you to in this picture.
Yes, Tim did call me a nerd for making this post.
I added a new link on the sidebar. You can now guess the baby's gender, birthdate, weight and length. Click on the link and add your guess!

My crafty friend Laura
So, Laura is going to make two blankets, as I mentioned in the previous post. LuLu only gets one!
Boy:

I couldn't find the exact chenille at Field's website, so it's pretty close to this. I think the "texture stripes" are a little farther apart.
Girl:

No matter which one, it will be super cute.
I have awesome friends.

Baby's Other New Ride
My stroller came yesterday! It's even cuter than I expected! The Townsend pattern is really cute!

Even though I still have 10.5 weeks left, it's reassuring that I have a carseat. Now, LuLu will be able to leave the hospital with us!

And, a fashionable blanket will be worn! Dykho(I know, it's not her name any more, but she'll always be that to me) and I went to Field's and picked out fabric for a boy blanket and a girl blanket!
The other good news -- America's Next Top Model started again. It's the return of Wednesday Girl Night with the Lauras!

29 weeks
Since I modeled a shirt I didn't like last week, this week I thought I would showcase one of my favorites.
Modal Boatneck Tee
I have it in two colors(rosamunde and ivory), and would buy more if I liked them!

We made bonus this month at work, so this--

is on its way to my house!
