12 Months - Happy Birthday Beatrix!

And just like that, my baby turned one.

Sleep:  Not too much has changed.  I'm thankful she hasn't given up the morning nap yet.

Food:  She's fully on whole milk and happily drinks it cold.  I was a little worried about that since she always took warm formula.  She loves real food and we don't spoon feed her very often, she'd rather do it herself from a pouch.  Her favorites are raspberries, cheese, broccoli, popcorn, peanut butter sandwiches and graham cracker goldfish.

Play:  She's starting to do a lot more of "playing" with toys instead of just putting everything in her mouth.  She likes driving cars and hugging dolls.  She tries to say Mama, Dada, More and All Done.  She LOVES animals and being outside.

Movement:  She walks across rooms by pushing chairs or doll strollers and cruises along furniture.  She can use the tiniest bit of a stable object to stand herself up and has super-long limbs to reach EVERYTHING.  She climbed up two stairs at my brother's house, but she hasn't had more opportunities to test out that skill.  She doesn't like to, but if I balance her standing and let go she can stand for a couple seconds they gently sits herself down.

Size:  She's 22lbs .5oz and 29.5".  She's still wearing a lot of 6-12m things, but I should really weed them out and switch over to 12-18m.  There are just a few things I'm not ready to pack up yet!  Her shoe size is 4.

11 Months

Sleep:  She's in bed from 7-7 at night.  Now that she can turn the light on, she does often.  So, we know she wakes up and plays in the night, but falls back asleep.  Sometimes after 5 I hear her playing, but I just turn off the monitor and Tim turns the light off when he get up.  She can almost skip her morning nap, but really needs at least 15 minutes.  If we're home I put her in bed at 9:30, but if we're out and about I just hope she falls asleep for a bit.  She usually does.

Food: 11 months means we can start "milking down" her formula bottles!  I'm so excited about buy less formula.  She eats table food for most meals. but if she doesn't eat enough at dinner we give her some yogurt or baby food.  Her favorites are raspberries, shredded cheddar cheese, yogurt, grilled cheese and broccoli.  I'm trying to get her used to a sippy cup, but so far she's not awesome at it.

Play:  She's waved "hi", "bye" for a while now, but this last month she's really gotten into it and does it at appropriate times.  She can sign "more" and "all done", "all done" being her favorite.  She loves to have us count to three and pretend to drop her.  She loves the anticipation and starts giggling when you get to 2.  She wants to have whatever her brother and sister have and always steals there things and crawls as fast as she can whenever the door to their room is open.

Movement: She can stand by a chair, push it across the room and walk with it, but doesn't try to cruise along furniture much.  She pulls up on anything she finds and easily sits herself back down.

Size: She's wearing 6-12m and 12-18m clothes.  The 12-18 are still a little big, but that's good because I want them to fit all summer!  Diapers are size 4 and shoes are a 3 or 6-12m.

Nine Months

Sleep:  Beatrix goes to bed at 7pm and we get her up for the day betwen 7:00-7:30am.  Some days she sleeps all night, some days she does not.  I don't feel tired every day anymore, so that's a good thing.  She takes one 15-90 minute nap around 9:30 and takes another 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.

Food: She takes 4 6oz bottles a day and loves to eat "real" food.  She eats a full meal at dinner and something small at lunch.  Right now her favorites are broccoli, shredded cheese, spaghetti, cooked carrots and veggie straws.  We still feed her purees, but she would rather eat what we're having.  I've just introduced her to pureed pouches, which will be nice when we're on the go.

Play: She's clapped before, but this week she's been clapping ALL DAY LONG.  She loves it, especially if you comment on the fact that she's clapping.  (Obviously that calls for more clapping.)  She sometimes waves.  She's been getting louder and likes to make Ma-ma-ma and La-la-la sounds, among others.  She still enjoys her jumperoo, but only if someone is watching her congratulating her on her great jumping skills.  She smiles at everyone in grocery stores and makes friends wherever she goes.

Movement:  She crawls all over the house now.  Miraculously, she waiting until after Christmas, so we took our tree down shortly after the 25th.  She is starting to try to pull up, but usually stops when she gets to her knees.  She easily gets herself into a sitting position on her own.

Size: On our home scale she's still just over 20lbs.  Her appointment is on Tuesday, so I'll update this then.  I packed away the 9m(6-9m) clothes a couple weeks ago because she was too tall for them.  She fits into 6-12 and 12m(9-12m) clothes nicely.  She's wearing 6-12m shoes and I moved up to size 4 diapers(But that was mostly a logistics thing, I think size 3 would fit for about a month still.).  Her first tooth finally popped through on Wednesday and other is half-way through today.

8 Months

Sleep:  I think it's better.  Sometimes I sleep through her waking and Tim get up and gives her a pacifier.  Sometimes I hear hear and turn off the monitor.  She goes to bed around 7 and we get her up for the day around 7:15.  Every morning between 5:30-6:15 she wakes and Tim gives her back her pacifier.  She takes 2 naps at 9:30 and 1:30.

Food:  Nothing has really changed since last month, but we have given her more "real" food.  She loves everything so far, but so did my other now picky kids at this age.  She's quite good at picking up food and feeding herself.

Play:  She loves stealing toys from her siblings and putting everything in her mouth.  She loves playing peek-a-boo and laughing at you.  She makes a lot of sounds and loves to screech.

Movement:  She's getting pretty close to crawling and has the longest reach you can imagine.  If she has a wall or couch to push up against she can get into a sitting position from her stomach.  She's quite proud of herself when she does that!  I've caught her trying to clap once or twice, but she's not consistent yet.

Size:  On our scale at home she's 20lbs.  She wearing 6-12m with room for growth.  9m pants are starting to get too short.  She can still wear 3-6m shoes, but they're pretty tight(I need them for Christmas outfits, so she just needs to stay the same for one more week!).  I started giving her the 6+ pacifiers, but she still uses the 2+ more often.  She wears size 3 diapers.  Still no teeth.

7 Months

Cutie Bebe is 7 months old today!

And she's wearing the Goodwill dress I bought almost 2 years ago!

Sleep: Some nights are better, most are the same.  Someday I'll sleep all night, right?  Her daily naps are roughly the same as last month.  When it is time for bed we just put her in bed with a sleepsack, pacifier and  small blankie and she puts herself to sleep.

Food: Bottles are the same.  She gets a jar of food at both lunch and dinner, but sometimes she's a bugger about eating it.  I think she would rather eat "real" food, so we've started to give her cooked veggies and fruits that we're having for dinner.  She loves puffs and BabyMumMums.

Play: Any and everything she can reach will end up in her mouth.  She still loves her jumperoo and excersaucer, but I'll probably keep only the jumperoo out once we get our tree.  There just isn't enough room!  She likes playing peek-a-boo and no one makes her smile more than Tillie and Teddy.  We let her ride Sandy with Tillie at Meijer and she thought it was the coolest thing ever.  She's a big hamball and loves people.  She's starting to make a lot of sounds and occasionally mimics us.

Movement:  Up until this point I've been discouraging crawling (Christmas tree soon, eek!), but I don't think I'll do that anymore.  (I'd been sitting her up anytime she got on her stomach and tried reaching for things.)  She'll probably be crawling before 8 months and we'll just have to get out the playyard for around the tree!  She sits like a champ and can stand if you put her up by railing or chairs.

Size:  She's wearing 6-12m clothes and shoes.  I can still get some 3-6 month shoes and outfits on, but not for long.  She's wearing 16" headbands and size 3 diapers.  She's a tall girl.  She doesn't have any teeth yet, but that one is still so close.  I really can't believe it hasn't poked through yet!  Her hair keeps getting lighter, but it's still not white like Tillie and Ted's.  It looks like her eyes will be staying blue!

6 Months

Beatrix is half a year old!

Sleep:  It's getting better-ish?  We've recently started letting her sleep with a mini-muslin blanket and it seemed to help her sleep better.  She usually wakes only 2-3 times a night wanting a pacifier and to be rolled over.  She goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00pm and wakes up between 7:00 and 7:30am.  She typically takes 2 naps a day.  One is at 9:30 and the other is around 1:30.  Hopefully within a week I'll write a post about our daily schedule, mostly because I find it interesting to look back on.

Food: She's still taking 6oz bottles at 7:30, 11:45, 4:00 and 7:30.  She gets half a jar of baby food(usually a veggie) around 12:30 and a whole jar(usually a fruit) around 5:30pm.  Her favorite at this point is pears with cinnamon and oatmeal.

Play: She likes her jumperoo and exersaucer.  She takes any toy she can and puts it in her mouth.  She's started playing peek-a-boo with her blankets and it's adorable.   Her favorite song is Skinnamarink, but she also likes You Are My Sunshine.  She likes to screech and is getting really good at jumping.  She loves to smile, laughs easily and is a big hamball.

Movement:  Girlfriend starting sitting up on her own two weeks ago.  It's the earliest of all my kids and I'm glad she's doing it early because it makes my life easier.  She can roll both ways, but prefers rolling back to stomach.  If I set her up by the side of the crib she can hold the rail and stand up -- and she thinks she's hot stuff while doing it.  She tries to get herself up on all fours, but she can't manage it yet.

Size: Her doctor's appointment isn't until Monday, but I can tell she's getting taller.  I had to switch out all her footie pajamas last week to 6-12m or 6-9m because she was too tall for 3-6m.  In all other clothes she's wearing 3-6m, except one pair of Gap skinny jeans in 6-12m that seemed to run small.  She's using size 3 diapers.  Still no teeth, but one(or two) bottom one(s) is(are) getting closer.  Her hair is light brown and her eyes are blue.

5 Months

Look who's 5 months old today!

Sleep:  Oy vey.  Nighttime sleep is Bea's nemesis.  No, really.  For the two weeks before she turned 4 months she was walking once to eat.  A few days later she started waking up 20 bajillion times a night.  Or 11.  I lost count.  We stopped feeding her at night, but still still wakes up a ton.  We giver her a pacifier and roll her back over.  Sometimes she goes right back to sleep, sometimes it takes 2-5 tries.  During the day she usually takes 3 naps.  One thing that I find remarkable is that if she wakes up from a nap too early I can usually get her back to sleep by just giving her a pacifier/quick tummy rub.  Probably because she gets so much practice at night.  She goes to bed around 7:30-8:30 at night and gets up for the day around 7:15.  Her naps are usually around 9:15a,  1:30/2:00p and a short one around 4:30p.

Food: Bea now gets 4 6oz bottles a day at 7:30a, 11:30a, 3:30p and 7:30p.  Sometimes they're a little late due to naps or school pick-up.  2 weeks ago we started her on solid food and she LOVES it.  She has one jar of 1st foods around 5:30 every night.  She was indifferent to oatmeal, but has loved peas, green beans and sweet potatoes.

Play: Oh, this girl is a smiler.  She smiles with her whole face.  She can pick up toys to put them in her mouth and loves watching Tillie and Teddy play.  My mom let her hold Tillie's doll Aggie the other day and Beatrix was mesmerized.  She loved looking at the eyes and touching the face.  She adores her muslin blankies likes to snuggle them to her face.  She likes it when you sign her songs and giggles like crazy when you tickle her.  She rolls from her back to stomach all. the. time.  I think she's rolled from her stomach to back once or twice, but I suspect it was on accident.  She wants to be able to sit up so badly, but she just can't do it yet.

Size.  I don't know how much she weighs, but I know she's getting bigger.  I was still squeezing her in some 0-3m outfits, but I packed them all away last week.  She fits nicely into 3-6m clothes, but 3-6m shoes are still too big.  I think her foot is a size 1.  0-3m socks fit best.  She's in size 2 diapers.  We can feel one tooth still trying to break through, but it's been slow going on that front.  Her hair is still light brown and her eyes are still blue.

4 Months

Bitty Bea is 4 months old!  Here's what she's up to:

Sleep:  I'm going to shoot myself in the foot with this, because every and any time I talk about a possible schedule Bea may or not have it goes to pot.  Eh, the 4 month sleep regression is bound to start soon anyway, so what the heck.  She goes to bed between 8:30-10:30 at night.  Usually it's closer to 9:30-10.  She tends to wake up once in the night around 3ish to eat 4oz.  She's usually awake from 30-60 minutes.  Tim and I take turns doing that.  (I am SO not ready for school to start in that regard!)  He says I get her back to sleep faster, and that may be true.  She tends to get up for the day around 7, sometimes sooner, occasionally later.  She probably takes 4 naps a day, but they're not too predictable.  She usually has one around 9, but that's the only one I could tell you.

Food: All formula and she takes 4-5oz at a time. We have one small liner(Playtex Drop-Ins) left, so I'm going to try moving up to 5-6oz bottles and hopefully giving them less often.  Until a week ago she was taking 5 bottles a day, but recently she added an extra one before bed.  We might start oatmeal this month.  It still seems like too much work at this point.

Play:  She constantly has her hands, blanket or clothes in her mouth, unless she has a pacifier.  She adores her siblings and loves it when the dance for her or tell her stories.  I made a Pandora channel of music for her that always calms her down.  She seems to like music more than Tillie and Teddy did, which is something because they both enjoyed it too.  She squeals, laughs and "talks" a lot.  Til and Ted always want me to interpret what she's "said".  We got the excersaucer out and she likes being up and able to see the room better.  I think in a few weeks we'll get the Jumperoo out.  I suspect she'll love it.  She continues to have the best smiles in the world and loves her muslin swaddle blankies

Size:  We had her 4 month appointment on Friday, so I know she's 14lbs 3.5oz(53%).  That's about a pound bigger than Tillie was at this age and half a pound bigger than Ted.  It's crazy to me that she's still only in the 53rd percentile, because she seems HUGE to me.  She's 24.25"(43%), which is about an inch shorter than other two were, that probably adds to making her seem bigger.  She can still wear 0-3m clothes though.  I've just started pulling out some 3-6m clothes and they fit okay.  She's in size 2 diapers and all her shoes are still to big -- even the size 1!  Tim and I think we can see the beginning of a tooth under her gums, which seems so early, but her hand chewing makes sense with that.  Her hair is still dark, but may be slightly lighter.  It's hard to tell because it's a bit fluffier.  Her eyes are still blue.

3 Months

Happy 3 months little girl!  We moved home from Camp today and Tim realized that at this point she's spent half of her life there!

She's a happy girl who love to smile and tries so hard to laugh.  She gets a few chuckles out every now and then.  She typically wakes up once a night to eat and it's getting easier to get her right back to sleep.  She doesn't have a typical day of naps, but I can sense that's coming.  She's on 100% formula now and takes 4oz bottles.  We just moved her into size 2 diapers, but size 1 still fits, just not over night.  I didn't want to get stuck with  half a box that wouldn't fit so we just decided to size up.  She wears 0-3m clothes, but a few one-piece outfits are getting too short.  She spits up a lot after eating, but nothing as annoying as Teddy did.  She still loves her pacifier(just switched from 0+ to 0-6m) and muslin blankies.

2 Months

And just like that, my little girl is two months old.

She still likes to stay awake for a large chunk of time in the middle of the night, but it's getting later(earlier?) than before.  Last night was her best night ever with only being awake from 4-5:15am.  But, now that I've talked about it I'm sure I jinxed it.  She usually is down for the night between 9:30 and 10:30.  She gets up for the day between 6:30 and 8:30 -- it varies a lot.  She can be a good napper, but it's inconsistent and not really on a schedule.  She usually is asleep during mealtimes at camp, but that's while I'm wearing her in a sling.

She's a happy girl who smiles a lot, coos occasionally and tries to laugh.  Her favorite songs are Pretty Little Baby and I'm So Fancy.  So, I guess she's conceited, but at least she has a wide taste in music?  She likes her brother's hair and holding her Aden + Anais blankets.

I don't know how much she gets when I breastfeed her, but she takes between 2-3oz of formula a feeding, except for a 4oz one around 8-9p before bed.  I think we've reached the point where she's getting more food from formula than me, but I've long since made peace with formula.

She has her 2 month appointment tomorrow, so we'll find out how big she is then and she'll get some vaccinations.  Teddy's excited to get a sticker at the office, but I suspect he'll cry when she does.  He ADORES his baby sister.  When it's time to leave the dining hall and someone else is holding her he starts calling out, "Where is Beatwix?  We need Beatwix. Dey gib her back? We NEED our Beatwix."

She's outgrown most of her newborn clothes, but there are a few outfits that still fit.  0-3m fit pretty well, but  most of it is too wide, even though the length is great.  I'm predicting a high percentage for height tomorrow with average weight.  She seems HUGE to me though.  Tillie was 8lbs 7oz at 2 months.  Bea was 8lbs 10oz at 1 month.  She wears size 1 diapers during the day and size 1-2 at night.

Her hair is still dark and not falling out at all.  Her eyes are still the newborn blue color.  Tim really hopes they turn brown.

18 Months

Happy year and a half, little man!

You are a funny, silly guy.  You love animals, trucks and books.  I thought you were going to jump out of my arms when you saw an excavator knocking down a building in the Nordstrom Rack parking lot this morning.

You started walking last week and every day you walk more.  I think you may have walked today more than you scooted.  You use a lot of words including up, dinosaur, thank you, please, more, all done, truck, dog, cheese, happy and bye bye.

Your favorite toys are Tillie's Little People dollhouse, balls, tractors and Legos.  Your favorite foods are bananas, fruit snacks, marshmallows and smoothies.  You dance around whenever you hear music.
Your sister has finally realized that you're fun to play with.  She tells me she doesn't want you to take a nap so you can stay with her.  You steal her water bottle whenever yours is empty.  She does the same thing with yours.

We love you little Ted!  I can't wait to see what the next 6 months hold for you.

15 Months

Dear friends, I think it's safe to say that my son is beyond cute.  I mean, really.  That smile, the bow-tie and teeny-tiny toes.  I'm glad I get to snuggle him every day.

We took him to the doctor today to get weighed.  He's 20lbs 13oz and 30 1/4 inches.  That is exactly what Tillie was at twelve months.  It's no wonder he's in the 10th percentile for everything.

Everything except his 19 inch head.  This big brained kid is in the 85th percentile there.

11 Months

Only one more month until his birthday!  It's kind of interesting, when Tillie was this age I couldn't believe how old she was.  Teddy still seems like such a baby to me.

Sleep:  He now is sleeping through the night!  Hooray!  Tillie started sleeping through the night around 10 months.  It just took Ted a little longer to get with the program.  He goes to bed around 7:30p and wakes up around 7am.  We try to get him in bed by 7pm, but we're usually too busy doing things to have him ready by that time.  He still takes two naps a day around 9am and 2pm.  They're each an hour long.

Tillie gets about the same amount of sleep in one day as he does.  I suspect they'll both give up naps altogether at the same time.  Hopefully that is a LONG way down the road.

Size:  He's still a peanut!  He can comfortably wear 6-9m clothes(like the bodysuit in the above picture) and 6-12m still gives him plenty of room to grown.  His feet are still fitting in his 0-6 shoes, but I'm hopeful that he'll be able to wear 6-12m shoes with socks this fall.  He has some adorable size 4 shoes, so his feet need to grow.  Well, all of him needs to grow.  His Christmas outfits are size 12-18m.

Food:  He's on all table food now.  Once and a while he'll let me feed him applesauce, but what he really wants is anything that's on my plate.  He starts screeching the moment he sees my toast every morning.  His favorites are blueberries, raspberries, pop-tarts, yogurt melts, grilled cheese and raisins.  I'm still breastfeeding, but the frequency has gone down a lot.  He'll drink water or regular milk out of a sippy/straw cup at meals.  (Which reminds me:  I guess I need to start buying whole milk for him.  Hmm.)

Movement:  Teddy scoots all over the house.  He pulls himself up to his knees at chairs, bookshelves, the crib and anywhere he wants to reach something up high.  He can climb over things while "scooting" now too. He doesn't so too much interest in walking, but he thinks its awesome when I stand him up in the crib.

Play:  Teddy likes playing with blocks and can stack two on top of each other.  He always tries for a 3rd, but the result is a crashing tower.  He of course thinks this is hilarious.  One of his favorite things to do is play on Tillie's bed.  He snuggles with blankets, rolls around and dive bombs the mattress.  I think he would adore a bounce house.  He pages through books everyday(something Tillie wasn't interested in at this age) and dances any time he hears music.  Ted likes to play peek-a-boo with his blankie.  It started at Camp, but in the last few weeks he's really formed an attachment with his Aden + Anais swaddle blankets.  It's nice because I have a bunch of them so there's always a new one for him when I have to wash them.  Which is often.  He's a messy kid!  (Tillie's a neat freak.)

Communication:  He says Mama, Dada and done(dah).  He also does the sign for done.  Tillie thinks this is awesome.  He also says "yesh" for yes, but I haven't decided it if he really means it or not.  If he wants something you have he'll started screeching until you give it to him.  He'll wave goodbye and will sometimes give me a kiss if I ask him too.

10 Months

Happy 10 Months, Ted-Ted!

Sleep:  Teddy goes to bed for the night around 7-8p.  He sometimes wakes up once to eat, but there's no discernible pattern.  I still feed him when he wakes up since he's on the smaller side I figure he can use the extra calories.  He wakes up for the morning around 6:45-7:15a.  Usually it's pretty close to 7.  He takes two naps a day.  The first is around 9a and is about an hour long.  The second is around 1:30-2p and is 45-60 minutes long.  Yes,  Tillie sleeps more in a day than Teddy does.  We lowered his crib this month.  He sleeps in a a sleep sack and with one of his blankies -- Aden + Anais swaddles.

Size: At his 9 month check up he was 17lbs 14oz and 27.5" - both of those stats are in the 15th percentile.  his head, however, is in the 85th percentile.  I can tell he's grown since then, but he's still not a huge guy.  His head doesn't seem that big to me either.  He's perfectly comfortable in 6-9m and 6-12m clothes.  His feet are still tiny and only is 0-6m Robeez and Pedipeds fit.  He now has 6 teeth, 4 on top.

Food: Breastfeeding is still going great.  He gets purees a couple times a day and he loves yogurt.  He's recently refused any pureed vegetables, but will eat them in regular form.  I pretty much give him some of whatever we're having.  He had pizza casserole this week with the rotini noodles cut in half.  He also ate half of a cheesy breadstick yesterday.  He will steal any of Tillie's cups(sippy or straw) that she leaves lying around.

Movement: Teddy does this modified butt scoot/ crawl to get around.  I really need to take a video of it.  He can go anywhere and gets in to EVERYTHING, moreso than Tillie did at this age.  (Although, she didn't start crawling until after 10 months.)  He pulls up to his knees to reach things, but doesn't pull all the way up yet.  He can easily get into a sitting position on his own.  He started waving this month and it's the cutest thing ever.

Play:  He loves anything that Tillie has, pieces of paper found on the ground, blocks, books, balls, trucks and rubber spatulas.  He "talks" a lot, but it's mostly gibberish.  It's starting to have more word-like qualities though.  He sometimes says Mom and something that sounds like "yesh".  I would say his favorite thing to do is empty any bin, basket or cupboard he can get to.  He's very thorough at this job.  He likes going for rides in the stroller as long as I keep moving.  After a month of thinking he's hot stuff while riding in the seat of a shopping cart he now would rather ride in the baby carrier facing out again.

9 months

Sleep:  Not much has changed on this front.  He still takes two naps, an hour one around 9a and a two hour one around 1:30p.  Those times and lengths change a bit based on the day.  Since we're living at Camp he goes to bed later, it usually ends up around 8.  He typically wakes up once around 11-12.  If he wakes up another time I don't feed him.  He's up for the day around 7a most days.

Size: I finally took at the 3-6 month clothes out of his closet last week.  Some still fit, but I was getting sick o them. 6-9m fit him pretty well and most 6-12m don't look ridiculous.  The waist is big on some of his shorts, but nothing that falls off.  He's still in size 3 diapers.  0-6 months shoes would still fit, but he rarely wears them right now.

Food:  He's still breastfeeding a handful of times a day and once over night.  I give him purees twice a day, around 11:30a and 5p.  He then eats part of whatever we're eating in the dining hall.  He loves bread, waffles, pancakes, cereal, peaches, pears, grilled cheese, spaghetti(no sauce), green beans, corn and grapes.  He HATES mashed potatoes.  Next time it's on the menu I'm going to take a picture of him trying it.  It's so funny and yes, I'm evil.  He's getting pretty good at a sippy cup and can also drink water out of a camelbak.

Movement:  He twirls and slides when sitting to get where ever he wants.  Since we have hardwood at home and school-ish tile at Camp it's easy for him to get across the room.  He also reaches as far as he can while sitting and moves and inch or so every time he reaches and sits down - kind of like an inchworm.  Sometimes he reaches so far he goes on his belly.  I think crawling will happen this month.  He really wants to be able to pull up.  He can get to his knees in his crib, but no higher.  Sometimes after I put him in bed I'll hear him crying and I'll go in to find him sitting up.

Playing: He likes knocking over block towers and he's really good at rolling the ball and playing catch.  He loves getting into anything he really shouldn't have.  He sometimes says Mama or Mom and seems to know what he's saying.  He babbles all the time, but it's a lot of gibberish.

8 Months

8 months.  Sheesh.  It's really going a lot faster this time around.

Sleeping - It had improved quite a bit until we went away for Memorial Day weekend.  He slept very poorly when he knew I was sleeping only 1 foot away from him.  Then, he came home from vacation with a runny nose.  He's going to bed around 7-7:30p.  He usually wakes up at least twice - usually around 10:30p and 3:30a.  Before vacation he was going to bed around 7:30 and would awaken once around 2a.  Sometimes he would sleep all night!  He's usually up for the day between 6-7a; generally closer to 6 than 7.  We moved him into his crib shortly after he turned 7 months old.  We stopped swaddling a day or so after because he was rolling over and becoming unswaddled.  I didn't like the loose blanket in the crib with him.  Now he happily sleeps in a sleep sack on his stomach.  He takes two naps a day.  The morning one is usually around 8 or 9 and is about 1 hour long.  His afternoon nap is around 12:30-1 and is about 1.5-2 hours long.  Both of these are not very good timing for when we move to camp this week.  Our cabin this year is a little bit out of Central Area, so I'm not going to want to leave him there when I go to the dining hall.  Hopefully he does alright with moving naps back a bit.  He's going to have to go straight to bed from dinner.  I don't think I'll be able to hang out on the staff porch during evening programming much this year!

Size - No official stats until next month.  He's finally fitting into some 6-9 month clothes and a small handful of 6-12 month.  He rarely wears shoes, but 0-6 or size 2 still fit.  He's cut three teeth this month!  The two front bottom teeth and one front top.  He probably could wear size 2 diapers, but we made the switch to size 3 so I don't get stuck with a large box of diapers that he's outgrown.

Food - He eat baby purees for lunch and dinner.  He usually has "lunch" around 11ish and dinner around 4:30p.  He loves puffs, yogurt melts, blueberries, raspberries and crackers.  He had a popsicle this month too.  He'll also eat bread and wants anything Tillie has.  He thinks broccoli and cheese are okay.  Some days he likes Baby MumMums.  We're still breastfeeding and he still won't take a bottle.  Occasionally when I'm working my mom can get him to take a few sips from a sippy cup.  He goes a couple of hours without nursing.  I don't really pay attention to the time.  I basically still feed on demand, but it's not constantly (like it was when he was a month old.)

Movement - He sits like a champ.  He can reach over and grab things without toppling over.  He's a rock star in the jumperoo.  If I stand him up next to the couch or the side of the crib he can stand, but he always tries to show off and just use one hand to hold on, so he falls over pretty quickly.  He thinks he's hot suff when he's doing this, though.  He doesn't try to crawl, but he's all over his crib.  He's in a different place every time I get him.

Playing - He's making a lot of sounds - mama, baba, dada, yaya.  He likes to play peek-a-boo.  His favorite toys are rubber spatulas, Duplo Legos, and anything he's not supposed to have.  He loves to be outside where he always tries to eat the grass.  He's very much a Mama's boy, but he'll deal with Daddy and Grandma.

7 Months

Honestly, I almost forgot to take Teddy's picture today.  For some reason I had it in my head that he turned 7 months after Tillie's birthday.  Nope, it's today.

Movement: He can sit and he loves it.  I'll put a pile of toys next to him and he happily sits and plays next to Tillie.  He also tries to steal her toys.  Then she yells at him.  He can roll, but it's not his favorite so he doesn't do it often.

Sleep:  We've finally turned a corner on this.  After spring break we put him in his own room to sleep(still in the Rock n Play Sleeper) and he wakes up 1-3 times a night.  Usually 2, but it's getting closer to just once now in the last week.  Thankfully that once is typically before midnight, so I'm starting to feel like I'm getting enough sleep.  He doesn't seem to need as many naps as Tillie did.  He usually takes one morning nap, often this occurs while we're running errands.  It's usually 30-45 minutes long.  He takes a longer nap in the afternoon when Tillie does.  It's usually 1.5-2.5 hours long.  Then he might fall asleep for 5-10 minutes while he's eating in the late afternoon.  Sometimes he's awake from 3p to 8pm.  That's just crazy to me.

Food:  He loves food.  His favorite baby food is apples(or pears) with cinnamon and oatmeal.  I don't blame him, it smells like apple crisp.  He also loves feeding himself baby puffs and baby mum mums.  He tries to steal anything I'm eating.  So, he's also had bread, angel food cake, veggie straws, part of a raspberry, a noodle and some shredded cheese.

Size: I weighed him on our scale at home and it said 17lbs.  He's still in 3-6 month clothing and size 2 diapers.  I sometimes put size 3 diapers on at night.  He's a small guy -- all of his weight is in his cheeks!

Six Months

Happy Half Year Teddy!

p.s. I'll post more of an update after his doctor appointment next Monday.
