I took these pictures a while ago but I finally got around to posting them!
Here's a facebook album with all the pictures.

Bunk Beds
Guess where Tillie and Teddy are sleeping right now?
Yep! In the same room. Tim finished putting the bunks together this morning, with some help from Ted.
The first nap/rest time was a success -- after Tim reminded them to be quiet. They both fell asleep!
Now to move around names, wall art and add some more "Teddy" touches.

Little Sister's Nursery
We haven't done any work on this as Ted is still using the room, but I think I made some decisions about what direction we're going. The "theme" will be nature, but more pretty/bunny nature than Ted's explorer/camp nature room. (This was Karissa's idea. Thank you! I think it's what I wanted to do, but wanted her to have her own "theme".)
Here's a really crappy polyvore of what we're planning. No, her name will not be Harper, but once she's here and we decide we'll hang her name on a branch like that. I also plan on making the "You Are My Sunshine" wall art. The only things I'm hoping to purchase are a bin/basket for blankets and a 5x7 art print for on one of the shelves. I'll be in Chicago this summer so I'll check the Land of Nod Outlet then for a bin/basket as there are a couple I like on their website. I'm undecided on the art print, but this one by trafalgarssquare on Etsy is a strong contender. I'll be watching for a coupon code or Zulily sale.
This picture makes it seem like it will be pink-pink-pink, but with green walls/curtains, a yellow crib and a white changing table I think the pink will be balanced out. (And hey, I had the rug and the changing pad was $2.61 on Amazon. I'm going for as inexpensive as possible!)
If you have any additional ideas or directions I should go in, let me know!

Nursery Decor
I'm having a hard time coming up with a "theme" for BabyGirl's nursery. Tillie's was "vintage-y". Teddy's was "nature-y". It's weird to me, but since the last two rooms I've done have been after the kids were here, it's hard to come up with something without knowing her personality. I LOVED both of their rooms, so I want to love this one too.
I'm limited by the budget, which is best described as "spend as little as possible". If I had no budget, I'd have ordered these Land of Nod strawberry sheets a month ago. (Which would have been good, since they're now sold out and not even an option anyway.) I'd get new yellow eyelet curtains and paint the walls, possible a pretty blue, or maybe white with a chair rail. I'd definitely order this print for her wall. I think it would all look darling with our yellow jenny lind crib.
But, that would involve more work that we have time for and definitely more money. So instead I went to the Pottery Barn Outlet to see what I could find on sale. Before I went I was leaning towards a yellow, green and lavender color palette. Well, they didn't have anything that went with that idea. I ended up with two different sheets. ($7 &$12, woo hoo!) One is pink and white paisley with birds, the other is a lot of colors with birds, owls and trees. They alone make this room a lot cheaper because I can reuse a lot of things we already have on hand.
Now, where do I go from here? I'm starting to come around to the green, pink, yellow color palette. Tillie's nursery was mainly yellow, red, blue, green with a little pink, so it is different while still having the same base of green walls, yellow crib and green curtains. Tillie had a neutral rug, but I'll be able to "steal" the pink stripe rug she has in her room now since it's a little too pink for a room that Ted will be sharing. I like how these all go together, but I'm not sure what to do with the rest of the decor.
I spent a lot of time this week pinning possible ideas, but with the sheets I bought, the only "theme" that I can come up with is "Trees & Birds". While that's fine, it just seems so overdone. I think every other nursery when I was pregnant with Tillie had an owl theme. Don't get me wrong, I love owls, but it's just not what I really had in mind. Here are some of the things I've found, but I definitely don't love it as much as the strawberry idea.
I know my favorite color is pink, but I didn't set out to have such a pink room for this girl. I'll be able to use all the colors on her name on the wall(when we decide on one!), so that should help the pink-ness. Anyone have any other directions to take this?

Teddy's Nursery
Remember how last March I gave you a sneak peek of Ted's "redecorated" room. Well, I bought the Ikea run in August and finally took pictures of the whole room today. Besides the rug, everything else has been done since the end of April.
This link should get you to all the pictures on facebook.

Introducing: Henry!
Here's the newest member of our family, Henry the Hedgehog!
It's kind of random how he came to be re-homed to us, but it happened through Camp. Henry got to spend the last month chilling in the nature center. Today we got him a new "deluxe" habitat on Craigslist. I still need to rearrange the living room so he's in a better space not by the window and door.
Tomorrow we're going to the fabric store to let the kids pick out new fleece "blankets" for him. He came with a camo one. While I'm sure it's appropriate, it's just not my thing. Teddy has already requested fire trucks. It will be interesting to see what they pick. They're pretty excited about our new pet. The first one that will live at home instead of school!

Teddy's Room - Sneak Peek
Here's a sneak peek of what I've been working on.
So far we've spent $11 -- 2 sets of sheets and "lighting". Most of the items have been repurposed from other spaces in the house. One of the things I need to complete the room is from Ikea(which is also the priciest addition to the room), so I don't know when it will be finished. Teddy LOVES the paper garland. We put it up yesterday and he smiles and points at it whenever we walk into his room.

Clothing Storage
I had a e-mail recently asking me about how I store my kids' clothes. I kind of love organizing clothes. I know it's ridiculous, but I'm super-excited to switch out the closets soon and get everything in it's correct bin.
Teddy's storage is pretty much the same as Tillie's was in this post. Tillie has more clothes and more space to organize it. It's fun. The clothes she wears currently are in her dressers.
The only drawers that are full are the socks(I know, weird, since she doesn't really like socks) and long-sleeved tees(Also weird, since she doesn't like long sleeves and makes me roll them.)
Yeah, her underwear drawer is a little large, but it used to hold pull-ups too. I needed it to be a place where she could get them out, hence the low drawer. The random room storage drawer is things like the extention cord for her Christmas tree and and more drawer liner paper. When/If she and Teddy ever share a room this will be his dresser. It won't be too hard to get all of her clothes into the other dresser.
I do a lot of shopping ahead for my kids via garage sales, after season clearance, goodwill, facebook, etc. I store Tillie's in Rubbermaid bins in her closet.
Her baby box has things like her coming home outfit, baptism gown, baby book, 1st Matilda Jane dress, birthday outfits I've made and birthday cards.
The buy-aheads always start out sorted by season, but by the time they make it in the attic they're just labeled by size because the seasons get mixed up. Her 3t bin from last summer(and a few things added after Christmas) is in the attic. The 3t bin that's in her closet is things that she might wear again this spring/early summer and things that I've pulled for storage(snowmen and penguins).
Before this year her feet grew much faster, so I thought that last summer she would wear size 8 and this past winter she'd wear size 9. That was so wrong. She's just starting to be able to wear size 8, but nearly all of her 7s still fit too. So, we have a surplus of shoes in the sizes to come. I've stopped buying shoes ahead, unless they're Saltwaters on a super-deal.
There's a shelf above her hanging clothes that's mostly under-utilized and is for storing things I don't want her and her brother to get into. There's one smaller bin that matches the others in her closet. I put clothes that are a different size that needs to go into attic storage there. (There's a couple 2t dresses that she re-wore this winter. I want to make sure they go back in the 2t bucket and not stuffed in the 3t one.)
Let me know if you have any questions.

The Sewing Room
AKA The Playroom AKA The Yellow Room
It just depends who you ask. So, this isn't the prettiest room in our house but it serves its purpose.
This is the wall opposite the popcorn machine/microwave/mini-fridge wall. (I know. You can be jealous of our klassiness.) Tim made the built in bookcase and I convinced him to leave a shelf empty for some sewing supplies. It's handy to have it there when I'm working on ironing board. The steamer is there too, but we plan to move it to the other side of the room since the steam isn't great for the books. My iron's steam function is broken, so that isn't an issue. I typically cut patterns out on the floor, so I just leave the cutting mat under the ironing board.
This armoire(that matches Tillie's nightstand) holds all my fabric. It's some-what sorted by color and not very neatly. The top holds all the cotton wovens and the bottom drawer has knits and plain white bodysuits. The middle drawer is random things I use when sewing, like freezer paper.
We got this table at an antique store shortly after we got married. I love it. It's usually filled with spools of thread, fabric pieces, scissors and pins. I cleaned it for you. Now it has just my sewing machine(really my mom's, it was my Grandma's) and my serger(actually mine!). Thread storage is on the counter next to the popcorn machine(obviously).
My mom got me this storage unit for all the random things that pile up in a sewing room. It's great for patterns, ricrac, glue gun, needles, buttons, etc. The party hats are actually a sewing supply. I cover them for my kids 1st birthdays.
The kids play down here nicely when I need to sew or fold laundry. It works out well for us, even if Tim thinks it's too cold down here.

Tillie's "New" Big Girl Room
Yeah, yeah. I know. This post is beyond ridiculously over due. However, that's because we litterally just finished hanging everything on the walls last week. Then I waited until I could borrow my brother's camera so I could pretend to take fancy pictures that are really just a nice camera on auto. Anyway. I adore her room and she's pretty fond of it herself.
Her red bed is exactly as I envisioned it.
It's a girly, sweet room that will be easy to change as she grows older.
I have to show you one of my favorite features. See those three little drawers on her dresser? They're perfect for clippie storage.
I have more pictures on facebook, and I've made the album public for now so anyone can see them.

Camp, Sweet Camp
We're all moved in. At least as well as we're going to be. Want to see where we'll be living for the next month and a half?
Escanaba.
Yep, it's my 5th summer at Camp and my 5th apartment. I like to think of it as a circle tour. This year we're up on Girls' Hill in an apartment under a camper cabin.
The living room.
Full size fridge! This was a welcome surprise for me. It will be nice to have popsicles for the kids when it's 90*. See that fire alarm? Tillie pulled it within 10 minutes of being at Camp Friday. We still have to get a new glass rod for it. This place could really use some artwork. I'll see what Tillie can do for me in that department.
Bathroom.
Yup, that's Tillie's potty chair. We're attempting to potty train. She's actually doing really well.
Teddy's room.
He does have a window and a closet, it's just not pictured. He'll mostly just sleep here, so it's not too exciting.
Tillie's room.
She has a bunk bed. Tim's cousin Julie will be sharing with her when she comes to visit. I got Tillie's quit for only $18 from Target.com!
Kitchen.
Okay, it's only a sink and a microwave. But, a microwave! Another surprise. You may also remember that last year I didn't have a real sink. This will be so nice.
Our room.

Big Girl Bed
When we first set Tillie's bed up I wasn't ready to do the full crib to bed switch. I had no idea how she'd handle it and Tim and I were already losing tons of sleep because of Teddy. I decided to start with a nap to see how she'd do. This was about two-and-a-half weeks ago. I put her to bed and about an hour later I heard little footsteps in her room, the sound machine turn off and the door opening. She was so happy and chipper coming out of her room that I didn't put her back to bed. She normally slept for 2-3hours, but I thought maybe 1 hour was the new normal. And, I was proud of her for turning of the sound machine on her own.
For the next few days she took one hour naps in her bed, but slowly each day she slept a little longer and it wasn't too long until we were back to 2-3hour naps. I was still putting her to bed at night in the crib. This caused much confusion when I was asking Tim to get something for me from "Tillie's room." I kept referring to both rooms as hers. Anyway, last Thursday I decided it was the night to try her bed all night. Tim had Friday off of work so he would be able to put her back to bed whenever she got up.
Wouldn't you know it, she slept until 6am. 6am was, unfortunately, the new normal after the time change. We were impressed. On Saturday she got up at 6:15am. Sweet! Then on Sunday she got up at 5:45am. Well, you can't win them all. So far this week she's done really well and today she even didn't get up until 6:40! I'm counting this bed transition as a success.
Last night I checked on her before I went to bed. This is how I found her.
So I moved her back to how I put her to bed. She always immediately puts the blanket over her eyes.
We have a bed rail(Thanks Aunt Betsy!) on the side so she doesn't fall out of bed.

PomPom TableCloth
When Kizie was little my mom found two red tables on clearance for super-cheap at Target. (I know, you're all shocked.) She had my cousin Andrea paint them. The one Kizie still has is of children from around the world. We put the other one in Tillie's new room.
I just don't quite trust Tillie yet to not ruin the table top. So, I made a cute tablecloth. I just cut a 35" square, serged the edges, and added the pompom trim.
I do need a chair, because the one I was planning on using is too short. Tillie doesn't seem to mind though. (Please ignore how messy her hair is. I don't know where her clip went.)
And hey, it only took me one week to make sew this! Now I'm trying to decide if I want to add the pompom trim to her plain white valances. I'll probably post a picture of what it would look like and ask for opinions later this week.
