He's So Cute!

I took this video of Teddy on the 22nd, but it was hard to upload videos when I was at Camp this year.  It also includes a lot of me talking (and singing!) which makes me reluctant to post it, but he's just so cute I can't resist.  He LOVES this Camp birthday shirt and asks to wear it all the time.  He will sing 'Happy Birthday' randomly, but I haven't caught it on video yet.  His favorite part, as you will see, is adding funny things in to sing to.  (The sirens in the background are from a 32 minute YouTube video of firetrucks responding.  I can't tell you how many times he's watched it this summer.)

My Baby Walks!

After a handful of times "making" him walk, yesterday night he randomly started taking steps across the room.  On his own. free. will.  And was grinning about it.

He's still cautious, but he walks quite a bit during the day.  At least at his 18 month check up in two weeks I can say he's walking now!

Harmonica Dance Party

Since Teddy actually took steps today (multiple times!) on his own free will, I thought I should quickly post this video of his "dancing" skills from last night.  I'm assuming that as soon as he really gets going with walking I won't see these awesome moves as much anymore.

Yes, that's my daughter on the harmonica.  She already has an agent.  Please no calls. ;)

Still No Walking

The thing is?  He totally could.  He stands without holding onto things to play all. the. time.

He actually took 5 steps to me yesterday, but I don't think he realized he did it because he was crying and wanted me to pick him up.  Here's more proof:  Have you every tried one of these strollers?  They're more unstable than a Maclaren with a diaper bag on the bag.  Yet he walks behind it no problem.

I recently bought him squeaky sandals from ThredUp for $4.50.  (ThredUp is pretty sweet online consignment shop, use this link for $10 off your first purchase.)  He does seem to really like hearing the squeak, so hopefully those help motivate him.  (At home.  I won't put other people through that squeak noise.)

Christmas Eve, With Videos!

Christmas Eve morning means waffles and presents at our house.  Tillie drank her juice out of a "Happy Birthday Jesus!" cup and Teddy has (okay, always) crazy bedhead while wearing coordinating Christmas pajamas.

Teddy's big gift was a train board.
Tillie was delighted with her new car.

Cookies in a Jar

Teddy learned how to put the cookies back in the jar this weekend.  He's pretty proud of himself.

She's Our Child

Shortly after Tim got home today Tillie took her blanket and spread it on the ground in front of her chair.  She found a bag of animal puppets, set herself on the chair and said, "It's school!  Come sit down on the rug for circle time."  She then proceeded to make animal sounds for us to guess what was in her bag.  After Tim realized what was going on, he pulled out his iPhone and made a video.  It's rough and shaky with Teddy climbing all over us with glee, but it was totally the best moment of my day.

Everyone Thinks It's Cute

You know how when people's babies can't crawl they always say, "It's the cutest thing!  He just scoots/rolls/slides/etc. everywhere!"  I've never thought that was cute.  I think crawling is adorable.  Of course I end up with a son who does this weird scoot thing to get everywhere.
