I had a really great appointment today. I found out that I tested negative for Group B Strep. I also let them check my progression and both my doctor and I were surprised. I'm 100% effaced and dilated to 2 cm with the baby's head on its way in the birth canal.
My doctor was thoroughly impressed that I haven't really noticed any contractions and that I'm this far as a first time mom. Now, this doesn't mean I'll for sure have the baby earlier than my due date, but it does mean it's a little more likely.
Dr. Taber said this appointment totally made his day. Here's hoping LuLu doesn't want to wait for over 19 days to make an appearance! LuLu also sounds more like me than Tim, preparing for everything far in advance. I'm pretty sure this kid had been head down ready to go since 18 weeks. Only time will tell!

Why cry when you can laugh?
Tonight I decided I needed to find some festive skewers that I knew were packed in a Christmas box in the attic. When I was lifting my leg to climb the steps I realized how nearly impossible it was because my ankles are so swollen they hardly bend. I just found it so funny, and it felt so weird to climb the stairs with out bending my ankle. I never thought about how it moves so that I can easily move up the steps.
Then, of course, the Christmas boxes are in the back corner with little to no access point. The only way I could reach them? Climb on the fall and summer rubbermaid buckets to get to them, stay on the boxes and try to look in the Christmas boxes. While I did manage to dig around in the right boxes, I couldn't find them.
So, I went to World Market and bought some different a lot less cute skewers. And, since I was there I bought a plate too. It was on clearance!
Yes, I chose to laugh that my ankles currently have rolls and are the size of Montana.

A lot of pictures today.
My friends threw me an awesome shower today. I don't have many pictures, because my mom took most of them on her camera. But, here I am with the Kiz. (And, I'm not wearing maternity clothes!!)

Bonus picture of Auntie Kiz with cheesecake -- it was delish.

The flowers were stolen from the centerpieces Dillon made.
Tim did a lot of work on school AND things for LuLu while I was gone.
The cradle is fixed! (And, Cara gave me the sheets for it today at the shower which was perfect timing! (Yes, I know I should wash them first, but I had to take a picture!))

The clock is hung!

But, the rest of my house is a mess...I have a lot of laundry to do this weekend!

Jinkers. Three Weeks and a Day.
This is getting a lot more real. Working on getting the cradle all set I think is what tipped the balance for me, realizing that this isn't just another project but something a little bigger.
The nervous excitement and nervous- well, nervous nervousness, I guess- builds . . .

List
I made a list of things this morning that I'd like to have done before LuLu comes. I already checked clean freezers off the list! There was a lot of really old mystery leftovers in the back/bottom of my freezers... eek! Now, they're wiped down and ready for the freezer meals I plan to make next week!
The only "essential" item on the list is to fix the cradle. I think Tim and I(Okay, Tim...) should be able to get that done this weekend. The cradle that we have is the one my Uncle Zeke(not actually related, one of my dad's best friends) made for my mom when I was born. I can't wait to take pictures of LuLu in it! I'll try to scan in a picture of me in it if I can find one. I think they're all at my mom's house.
May 2 is my last day at work. 7 more shifts. That seems surreal.
24 days. (I really hope it's not more than that!)

36 weeks
So, here I am. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5ish weeks left. (I'm not even going to consider two weeks overdue. I just can't.)

Yesterday was Joe's Big Race at Camp. Tim spends a ridiculous amount of time planning and executing this event. It's always a ton of fun! This year, Rich, Lucas, Matthew and Jim's team won!
Tim put the curtain rods up! Next is a shelf and the clock!

Yes, we are crafty!
Look at the cute onesies we made! Tim drew the acorn and the mushroom for me. I got the idea because I contemplated ordering an acorn onesie off etsy.com. Then I realized I could make one. But, I can't draw worth anything. Luckily I have a super-crafty husband!

And, the mushroom to match the newborn pants.

LuLu will definitely be styling!

Happy Easter!

I remembered to wear a different shirt again this week!
This is the last week to make your guesses on LuLu's stats; I'm closing the poll next week.

Are we crafty?
Here's our mission:
I bought these pants for LuLu in February.

They were only $2 at Gymboree. It's hard to see in the picture, but they have trees, mushrooms, squirrels and acorns on them. Yes, I had to have them. I knew Tim would think they were cute.
They were so cheap because they were a return from over a year ago. But, there was no matching top. Sure, I could just put a solid onesies with it, but they're newborn size and I really have only found white.
I think we have a solution...I just need another day or two. Check back Monday and keep your fingers crossed!

Progress
The nursery is coming along. We bought a rug at Ikea yesterday and I ordered curtains from Land of Nod. (I really hope the curtains match!) We still need to put the crib together, so I don't have any new pictures for you yet. The closet is pretty full with clothes though! There's pretty even amounts of boy and girl items. A lot was purchased today at the Carter's Sale -- after LuLu arrives we'll bring back the wrong gendered items.
