16 weeks

I know it might seem like I wear pajamas only every Sunday. Really, I don't! It's just that the pictures are taken when I get home from work and I've changed already. Mostly I change, because I tend to wear dresses on Sunday, and that's not super-conducive to a bare belly shot! Last week I actually had two people ask me when I was due. One at church and one was a random customer. I thought that was pretty risky. When I'm wearing a cardigan and jeans at work, I still think I look a little more pudgy than pregnant. Clearly, we're getting somewhere though!

On Thanksgiving I asked Kizie to take the Chex Mix away from me because I didn't want to eat it all and get fat.
She grabbed the tuperware and said, "You already are fat."

Photobucket

I'm pretty sure she's the only one who I could take that from. When I was telling this story later to Joy Kizie was there and said, "Well, you are! Look!" and she pointed to my belly. "And, you're only going to get bigger!" She's blunt, that little sister of mine. But, we looked good on Thanksgiving. You can't see it in this picture, but I'm wearing my cream kneesocks with reindeer on them. Awesome.

Yesterday we stopped at school to see Honeybee and took the Kiz with us. The flying squirrel likes her!

Photobucket

This one's blurry, but Honeybee moves fast. It was hard for me to catch a picture of her on Kizie. She jumped on Kizie's shoulder a few times too.

Photobucket

You still don't believe me about the pajamas thing, do you? Just to prove it, here's today's outtake. Tim decided we needed a bare belly shot too.

p.s. I have no idea why photobucket is so janky an sometimes posts my pictures sideways. If you click on them, you'll be taken to the picture in the correct rotation.

15 weeks, 1 day

Oops! We were busy yesterday and totally forgot to take a picture!

Photobucket

So, I've been wearing these jeans for 3 weeks, and just yesterday I noticed that they have an adjustable waistband...just like Kizie's pants. I told this to my mom today and she laughed at me.

14 week Appointment Recap

I went in for my 14 week appointment today. Everything was great. I've gain 2 pounds and the heart rate was 152. My doctor said to not read into that with gender because at this stage, they're all in the 150s. And, if the heart rate "predictor" was accurate, he would have three daughters instead of one!

My "big ultrasound" is schedule for December 18. But, we're not going to be finding out the gender. I was already looking forward to that day, because it's the Kiz's 7th birthday! Now, she'll get to see the baby for the first time then. I wonder if I still need to get her a gift...shouldn't that be enough!

edited to add:
I scheduled my childbirth class, hospital tour and breastfeeding class today. The childbirth class is at South Pavilion in Culterville! I'll be there every Tuesday night in January. It was only offered on Tuesday nights, so I'm going to have to miss one for Rollout at work. Oh, well. And, our insurance covers a lot of the childbirth class. Which is good, because it's a lot more than I thought it would be!

No carseat

Apparently Target had meant to post the carseat at $42.99 off, not $42.99. So my order has been canceled. It did seem too good to be true.

I know mistakes happen, but I didn't even get an e-mail about the cancellation. My order was just canceled when I went to check the status. Now that is poor customer service.

edited to add:
I did finally recieve and e-mail from Target about the cancellation at 6:45pm. I do feel however, they should have included a 10% off my next purchase coupon, or something. It wasn't a very sincere apology, in my opinion.

comment away!

I've changed my comment settings so that anyone can comment. If I get random spam, I might change it back. But for now, you all can!

14 weeks

Eek... This is really getting to look like something.

14 weeks

Unfortunately, that something is rather large. I like to thing that this is just because of the angle of the shot. And, I'm glad I get to cover up with clothes, because then it's a lot cuter!

14 weeks

So, I ordered my carseat today. I know, you all think I'm crazy and on top of things, but good deals just keep falling in my lap. So good I can't pass them up. Target.com had Britax Marathons for $42.99 with free shipping! How could I possibly say no? This baby is not quite as expensive as I expected!

The Room.

I know it's a little early. But, our crib was ordered today! I had my heart set on a white crib. It was what I always pictured having. I found some I liked the look of at Babies R Us, but they had janky construction. I found some I liked the look of at Land of Nod, but they were crazy expensive. Then, I found the white Jenny Lind crib at Land of Nod. It was within reason and white. Perfect!

My mom called me this weekend and asked me what I thought of the yellow Jenny Lind in Land of Nod's sale section. I told her no. I wanted white. I didn't care that it was $100 cheaper.

A day later, just to prove I was right, I looked it up. Wrong.

Adorable. Love at first sight. I have to have the yellow crib.

LuLu's Crib

Tim has always wanted to paint the walls green. My mom found this clock at the Land of Nod outlet for super-cheap.

LuLu's Clock

It's falling together easily. A slightly vintage vibe. Perfect.

13 weeks

Yeah! Second trimester!

Check out my sweet bracelets. I had the red coral one, and I just bought the citrine one from Amy yesterday. They'll look so great together for the holidays! (But, avoid looking at my fake smile...)

Best Part

So far, the best part about being pregnant is that my lactose intolerance seems to have mellowed. I read in a couple of books that this could happen, but was sure it wouldn't happen to me.

It did! I happily eat at least one cheese stick every day -- without Lactaid!

Kizie and the Candidates

My little sister pays a lot more attention to politics than I did in 1st grade. We've had quite a few interesting conversations in the last few days.

Monday - I picked her up from school.

"Amber! We voted at school today!"
"Who did you vote for?"
"John McCain!!!"
"So, who won?"
"We don't find out til tomorrow."

"Amber, I'm not sure what this says, but I think Barak Obama wrote Harry Potter."
"Um, I don't think so. J. K. Rowling did."
"Well, I don't know what this says then."
(I look at her scholastic news)
"This says that Harry Potter is Obama's favorite kids book."
"Oh. I have something in commom with Barak Obama? Oh! Look John McCain likes tacos and I like tacos!"

Tuesday - I called her after school.

"So, who won the school election?"
"John McCain!"
"Who do you think is going to win the regular election?"
"We just don't know yet."

Wednesday - My mom wakes her up.

"Barak Obama is our new president."
"Sweet niblets."

- I call her after school again.
"What do you think about the election."
"Well, John McCain didn't win."
"Barak Obama will probably still do a good job."
"All I know is all the kids at school are saying 'Barak Obama kills babies.'"
"Oh! Well, that's not really true. Ask mom, she'll tell you."
"I don't know."

Election 2008

I voted! I have the sticker to prove it!

I voted 2008

Yes, I took this in my bathroom. Tim isn't home, so it's the only mirror that would really work. Good thing I cleaned it yesterday!

It's all okay now...

but I had a moment of near panic this morning.

It's November 1st, and that means on thing; Christmas Music. I don't want to hear any one you telling me it's too early, blah, blah, etc. I really don't understand why people complain about the lengthening of Christmas. I don't put up decoration until after Thanksgiving, but 4 weeks of Christmas music is not enough for me. And really, aren't there worse things in the world to complain about? Is Christmas music really that offensive to you?

So, to begin my Christmas music listening I must start with *NSync's Home For Christmas. It's what I do every year. As I was getting ready this morning, I realized I needed to make sure I had the cd for my car. It was no where to be found. I searched my car, the cd tower, the extra cds in the living room. No where. No problem. I'm sure I have the music on my computer, I'll listen to it that way. Gone.

Just as Tim went out to his car to look for it, I found it! Randomly above the tv in the corner of the shelf. Crisis adverted.

merry christmas, happy holidays.
