My hand are free.

One of the many things my mom has bought for Tillie is a clock in the nursery.

LuLu's Clock

Now, she bought this clock because it's adorable and cheap. It was a floor model from Land of Nod so $70 was knocked off the price. Sweet.

The best part? The pendulum. Tillie will lay in bed staring at it, smiling and cooing. It's adorable and I get time to empty the dishwasher.

10 years, already?

My 10 year high school reunion was last night. I had a good time. It was really good to see Melissa and really interesting to see everyone again.

How random! Only about 8 prizes were given away while we were there and we both won! Tim won $10 to Eclectic Eatery. We switched, as I don't like coffee.

We've has a lot of good luck recently. Last week Matthew was in Vegas. He played a slot for Tillie and she won!

Sparklers

We had a fantastic 4th of July. Tillie was pretty good all day, it was awesome. We spent the morning in Dorr at what Andrea calls, "The Parade of Tractors". This is why Tim likes to go, but he wishes there were Fords too.

Then it was lunch at my mom's. She had read my facebook status and thought I was making macaroni salad, so she didn't make any. I was making a different pasta salad to take to Lucas and Faith's cottage at night. So, while she was making the hamburgers and hot dogs, I quickly made a macaroni salad for lunch. Hog dogs and macaroni salad are requirements for me on the 4th.

Then we drove out to Howard City to hang out at the cottage. Food and fun was had by all. It was lovely.

Since Tillie was so good all day, we decided she must love holidays like her mom and Auntie Kiz do.

Twilight

I know. I mocked cousins who saw the movie multiple times. I didn't understand why Linds was reading all the books. I don't even thing that Robert Pattenson is attractive.

But, then I was two weeks away from my due date and Tim offered to go rent a movie to pass the time. Twilight was the only movie I could think of.

We made fun the acting and was we could tell was excerpts taken right out of the book. Then, the second half of the movie came and I was kind of hooked. Tim still was surfing the internet while we were watching, but I gave it my undivided attention.

The next day I was at Target looking for a book to pack in my hospital bag. Hmm. Twilight. I wondered how different the book was from the movie. I bought it, packed it in my bag and didn't read any of it.

Then came two weeks after Tillie was born and I didn't have anything to read while Tim watched Tillie and I took a bath. Well, there was Twilight.

I was hooked. It was lame, it was cheesy, but I couldn't stop reading. A couple weeks later I finished it. (If there is one thing I've sacrificed most while being a mom it's reading. Non-mom Amber would have read that book in two days.) I needed a book for Camp so I bought New Moon.

Now, if you haven't read the books and are planning to see the movie, you're going to want to stop reading because I'm revealing some minor(?) spoilers.

No really, I'm going to give some of it away!

Um, no one told me that it was a Vampire and Werewolf book!?! All of a sudden the books got really cheesy. I mean, seriously? Werewolves? I considered giving the books up, but I still didn't have anything else to read. So, I kept reading and then the Vampires came back and it got better again. But it's still lame. I'll read them all, but c'mon. It's just too much.

My next book (the third Twilight book is only available in hardcover and I refuse to pay for that) is going to be a lot better. It was a gift from Hope and I was eager to finish New Moon so that I could read it.

Operating Instructions

Now if I get the chance to read at Camp in front of others I won't have to justify what I'm reading.

Swaddle Wraps + White Noise Machine = Amazing

So, the little Pumpkin Pie and I went to visit the Crew this morning. She was a crying whiney baby the whole way to the mall. Also through most of the mall. The problem was she was tired but couldn't fall asleep. So I put her in the sling and sneakily nursed her under a blanket.

Success! Sleep after a little snack.

Then I stopped walking to talk to people or try things on.

Awake.

Lame, Baby. Lame.

She was okay on the way home and almost fell asleep. I fed her again at home and she fell asleep. But, as soon as I stood up to put her down for a nap she woke up. I decided to just go for it and put her down anyway because I had lunch to eat yet.
(Mmm, Panera.) She was in her swaddle in a dark room with the noise machine going. She was good for about 2 minutes and then she started crying. I looked at her and stuck a nuk in her mouth hoping it would buy me 2 more minutes.

A minute later she was still looking around. But, then I realized I didn't hear anything anymore. Yes, she's been sleeping for 20 minutes now and my lunch is finished. I even have time to blog with words! So, if you're having a baby Swaddle Wraps = Awesome. White Noise Machine = Necessity.

Panera has the perfect summer tossed salad. Strawberry Poppyseed.
Try it.
Love it.

My BabyGirl does smile, but we haven't caught it on camera. She smiles at me and Tim, no one else. Well, she nearly smiled at Rachel yesterday. We have time off of Camp this weekend so I'll make Tim help me capture it on film.

She's a big fan of pacifiers too.
