Teddy's Easter Preview

I bought Tillie's Easter dress last fall, the day before Teddy was born.  Earlier this year I bought Teddy a crewcuts argyle cashmere cardigan on eBay.  It's darling.  When I told Tim I bought our spitty-up baby a cashmere sweater he replied, "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard."  He's got a point.

At first I was looking for a baby button down and tiny khaki pants.  I wasn't finding what I was looking for and came to the conclusion that I need to find longalls for him.  He'll probably spend every Easter for the rest of his life in khaki pants, I might as well embrace the JonJon/rompers while I still can.  I looked around for cute ones, but they were all a little more than I wanted to spend.  Finally I decided to make them myself.  I found a great pdf pattern.  I found a green solid that is very close in color to the cardigan for the lining and chose a tan cotton/linen blend for the outer.

I can't wait for him to wear it.  Right now it's way too long, but it's still a month until Easter and he's sure to grow.  I added extra length so that I could fold up the cuffs.

He'll wear a plain white bodysuit under it all, along with some classic white baby shoes I got at a consignment sale.  They even have silver bells tied on the laces.  Tillie calls them, "Teddy's Jingle Shoes."  That made me love them even more.  I bought the green buttons I need to add today.
