Valentine's Dress

Last year for Valentine's Day Tillie had a cute red and pink striped dress and matching red tights with hearts on them.  This year I haven't found any dresses for her that I like as much.  I found some cute fabric.

I also found a MJ style flutter dress pattern. (McCall's 5835)

It's the first dress that I've ever made and I think I did pretty good considering that.  I still have to add the back button.  The only problem is that it is HUGE on Tillie.  I made the 2 thinking she'd be able to wear it all summer.  Yeah... I think she'll be able to wear it next Valentine's day and the following summer.

So, does anyone have any "tried and true" dress patterns?  I've been looking at the Romeo and Mae knot dress on Etsy for months now.  I may just bite the bullet.  I do love pdf patterns so I can print them whenever I want.

Nice job. I hear you on the link between profanity and sewing. I'm replacing my first zipper--if I have to rip it out and start over one more time, I'm going to have to buy another replacement!

I came across your blog (tilliescloset) on gf and followed the link here. I love Carla C's patterns on youcanmakethis.com . My favourite is probably the Simply Sweet, though she has a new romper pattern coming out soon that is just to die for and a dream to stitch up.
