Trick or Treat!

Davenport University opened up their dorms to trick or treaters tonight. My dad and I took the Kiz and Tillie. Trick or Treating with a baby is sweet; you get the candy! (My roommates and I did the same thing with 9 month old Kizie in 2002.)

Yes, it is early.

That was a photo of my darling daughter from 15 minutes ago, at 6:30am. It's about 1.75 hours into our ridiculously awesome morning party.

Apparently 5am is the new 7:30a. No bottles, snuggles, rocking, or even sleeping in mommy's bed could convince this girl it was still bedtime.

That Quickly, Hey?

Tonight Tim and I are going out for dinner for our 2nd anniversary. We're going to Red's on the River in Rockford. So, I went down to my closet when Tillie was taking a nap to find a nice outfit to wear. As it seems, all the clothes that fit me are simple knits. I only own "Mom Clothes" already?

*sigh* I used to have a wardrobe to envy. Well, I still do. It just doesn't currently fit me.

Someday gorgeous clothes, I will wear you again. I just hope it's when you're still in style!

Robinette's

When Kizie was around 8 months old my friends and I took her to Robinette's for a hayride. My mom and I took Tillie there for the first time today. Kizie and Tille both wore the same outfit.

(I had regular film when I took Kizie. I'll try to scan in some of those pictures sometime. The outfit was a little big for Tillie, but I couldn't resist.)

The extreme laziness astounds me.

It drives me crazy when people don't put shopping cars in cart corrals. I always put them back, and usually end up putting one or two extra ones away.

Since Tillie's been born, I try to park next to corrals so that I have easy access to putting the cart away. I happily saw a spot next to a cart corral open.
No dice.

Seriously people!? There's a cart corral TWO STEPS away. You really can't get any lazier than that.

On a lighter note, I found this conversation on my old blog this morning. Kizie was 4.5 at the time.

*Dad turns car around back home after two minutes in the car.*
Kizie - "Where are we going?"
Dad - "Home, no one wanted to go to the beach, did they?"
Kizie - "I do! I do!"
Dad - "Okay, I'll turn around at home. I'll just run in the house to turn off the sprinklers while we're there."
Kizie - "Dad. You forgot."
Amber - "Oh snap!"
Kizie - "Oh snap Dad."

Christmas Tree Tee

Kizie requested matching Christmas shirts for her and Tillie. They're posted with all the other things I've made on Facebook. But, here's Kizie modeling hers.

Tillie hasn't tried hers on yet, but I think it's too big currently. Which is good, Christmas is still a little ways a way, right?

Carmel Apple Cider

(Grown-Up Style)
My latest favorite.

Take a saucepan and pour some apple cider (or apple juice if you don't have cider).
Turn heat to medium low.
PourSplash in some ButterShots and some Captain Morgan's.
When throroughly warm, pour into a mug.
Enjoy. I usually am watching some trashy t.v. (or the Duggars) after Tillie's in bed.

This is perfect to enjoy when hanging out at home while waiting for trick or treaters.

My house is not clean, and that's okay.

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth
empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
hang out the washing and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Church Dress for Fall

My mom got her this dress at Carter's. I thought boots would be perfect with it.
