Walk.

It's a perfect Fall day here. Tillie and I just went for a walk. Because, let's face it, I have to do something to try and fit into all my awesome J.Crew clothes again. And, she is content to explore her world from the stroller.

Farm Fresh

Just this week I realized that Metro Health Hospital has a Farmer's Market on Thursday mornings. It started in May and goes to next week. So, my discovery was a little late...

My mom bought a huge bouquet from this seller for $5. The best part? The money goes to help students in El Salvador go to college

I bought potatoes from Visser Farms for a stew I'm going to make next week.

I just liked how the radishes looked piled on the table.

The only problem is that it's just a little to far to walk to with Tillie. Maybe next summer we'll have the bike attachment for the Chariot and I can take her that way.

All Kinds of Baby Food

Tillie is a formula fed baby.

Did I intend for it to be this way? No, I planned to breastfeed for at least 6 months, most likely 12. I was going to for a number of reasons. I believe in the benefits of breast milk and it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

I had supply issues that made that not possible. I started supplementing with as little formula I could so that she would still get as much breast milk as possible. Thankfully, she took to a bottle with formula right off the bat. By 3.5 months, I was sick of fighting with my lame milk producing breasts. As of today, she gets one breastfeed a day, but I question how much she actually gets from that.

Unfortunately, I feel like I have to justify why I give her formula instead of breastmilk. I felt bad enough already, I didn't need other people making me feel worse. I've gotten over feeling bad, because, look at this kid. She's happy and well fed.

When she was only getting breast milk, she wasn't happy. She was hungry.

I had big plans when I was pregnant to wait until 6 months for solids. Why introduce something else when she was eating the world's perfect food for her? So hey, I'm already ruining her with formula, why not give her rice cereal at a little over 4 months. At 4.5 months, we've added carrots into the mix. She loves it.

I don't feel bad, because my baby is happy. And, she sleeps 12 hours every night. But, there are a lot of people out there like me, so don't shame anyone who uses formula.

The Fair

Babies in bonnets, little girls with balloons and ginourmous pumpkins are why I love fall.

Quality Cotton

Most of the clothes I've bought since Tillie's been born have been from Old Navy. I need bigger sizes and I hope I won't be in them for too long so I don't wan to pay J. Crew prices.  (Plus, it's safer for me to stay away!)

I bought this tee in navy yesterday at The Crew when I was working.   I put it on today.  Oh, is it ever soft!

Pretty Baby, Pretty Dress.

I took a lot of pictures of Tillie at Grandma's Cottage this weekend. I have a ton of pictures to choose from to post from that too. Here are four of her wearing another dress that was mine.

Good Buy.

I think I'm going to live in this skirt for the next month or so.

I can deal with not having a lot of my clothes fit me. But there are a few things I need jeans and a denim skirt. I've already worn this one two days in a row.

I think I just might wear it tomorrow too.

I dare you to sit still.

My daughter had a screaming fit on the drive home from my mom's tonight. Yet, when this song came on the radio I couldn't help but dance and sing over her cries.

Hand-me-downs

Even though she's the oldest, she hasn't been exempt from hand-me-downs. I dressed Tillie in another one of my outfits today. She stopped smiling the moment I took her outside for a few pictures.

I guess there's just too much to look at.

"Oh, you want me to pose?"

"How's this?"

Don't be fooled, this was a cry.

It's a good thing she can't really move yet, it's looks like she's thinking about a getaway.
