Packing for Spring Break

I love packing.  I know, it's kind of weird.  I love planning outfits though, so I think that's why I love it so much.  Right after I graduated from college I made short trips to Chicago frequently.  After one two-night trip where I packed 5 pairs of shoes I decided I needed to take a little advice I once read in a magazine, pick one (neutral) base color and pack around that.  I tried it the next trip and I only had one pair of shoes that went with every outfit.  Perfect!

We're going to be gone for a full week(8 days), but we do have access to a washer and dryer while we are there.  I picked navy as Tillie's base color.  I love navy in the spring and summer and on my blue-eyed-girl so it was the natural choice.
Tops
One long sleeved tee, one 3/4 sleeved tee, three short sleeved tees, one woven top, one layering tee, and one layering tank.  The yellow top is intended to be used for some photos on the beach.  I probably could have gotten away with two less s/s tees, but she's two.  I don't want to spend the entire vacation doing laundry.

Bottoms
One pair bootcut denim, one pair white cuffed denim, one pair knit navy capris, and one striped knit skirt.  Nearly all of the tops can go with all of the bottoms.  If it's cool in the morning she can start with the long jeans and switch out into the skirt later.  I know white bottoms can seem ridiculous for a toddler, but she doesn't like getting dirty, so they've stayed pretty clean so far.  Plus, I bought them used so it's okay if they get ruined.

Extras
One "special" outfit - navy cardigan, ruffled s/s tee and ruffled chambray skirt.  All of these items can still be mixed and matched with the other clothes. One chambray dress for church, to be worn with the navy cardigan.  One terry jacket, one navy swim cover-up, one swim suit, one bonnet, and one sun hat.  For shoes I'll pack her tan Salt-Water sandals and navy slip-ons.  Since everything is mostly in the same color family, packing bows and clips is easy too.

Now I just need to do the same thing for Tim and me.  Teddy's not as easy since he needs a million outfits a day because of spitting up...

Only one suit!? Cole hates putting on a wet suit, so no way could I get away with that!

It's going to be an average of 66* so she probably won't wear it much. It's more of a "fun" trip than a "warm" one.

I have toyed with adding another suit though and a pair of navy shorts.

Little girls clothes are the best. Someday... maybe... hopefully... I'll get to play in the world of cardigans, tiny leggins, dresses, and skirts. And we will probably have no money, haha!!
